Description

The Myanmar Federalism Leadership Programme (MFLP) 2018 is jointly organized by the Centre for Development and Ethnic Studies (CDES), Hanns Seidel Foundation - Myanmar (HSF), and The Salween Institute for Public Policy (SIPP).

The MFLP 2018 started with a very diverse group of participants from the State and Region of Myanmar. 45 participants (24 women and 21 men) in total from different ethnic are attending this programme. The theme for MFLP 2018 is Division of Power and Fiscal Federalism.

Most of the participants are experienced individuals so we hope that a deep mutual learning process will unfold. Participants are from government institutions, research institutions, universities, Political Parties, Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs), and NGOs. This is part of the organizer groups approach to encourage collaboration among the different actors in the community so as to achieve a better result for the benefit of the community.

The programme will be held during 10 days from September 13 – 23, 2018 in Nay Pyi Taw. It is pretty long compared to other training courses, but it is very important that we all are very familiar with the specific content of the program module. In addition, we are sure that the pleasant atmosphere and hospitality of the learning rooms and environment will make participants feel at home and comfortable and therefore make the 10 days feel like a short time.
