Dr. Moses C. Tehlo

Dr. Moses C. Tehlo recieved the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science from the University of Madras, India in 2015. The PhD dissertation was entitled “Democratic Transition and Ethnic Politics in Myanmar: A Study”. Moses also obtained a Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) in 2002 from Bethany Theological Seminary, Bogon, Insein, Yangon, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from the Dagon University in 2003, and a Bachelor of Divinity (BD) in 2007 from Gurukul Lutheran Theological College & Research Institute, Chennai, India. Moses gained the Degree of Master of Arts (MA) in Political Science in 2010 from the University of Madras, Chennai, Tamil Naidu State, India, with the thesis “A Study on the 2008 Constitution of Myanmar from Mara Ethnic Perspective in Myanmar”. During the student life, Moses was the speaker of the Student Parliament at the University of Madras, and Moses was also the chairman of the Burmese Student Fellowship in Chennai in 2007 and the advisor from 2008-2015. His research work at the Centre for Development and Ethnic Studies is focusing on political dialogue, peace and reconciliation and ethnic issues in the Union of the Republic of Myanmar. As a national resource person he does take part in conducting workshops on federalism, democracy and political dialogue in different states and regions of Myanmar. Moses is also the chairman of the Laileipi Town Planning Board Committee, Matupi Township in Chin State.
